I don't know if any of you have read any of Jan Karon's Pastor Tim books, but I just happened to pick up the last book of a long series at the library one day, and I quite enjoyed it, so I thought I should read the first one - this one. It's funny how easy it was to see from this first book to the last one. I think it shows Jan Karon's skill in writing to write all those books inbetween - and there are many, I don't know the number - but it was still connected to the last book she wrote and she didn't bore people or she couldn't have sold all those books!

If you haven't read any of these, I'll let you know that Jan's skill is her developing of character and weaving a story that is simple and interesting at the same time. Kind of like the Little House on the Prairie stories - highlighting relationships and all the interegacies and oddities that go with our relationships.

I will read (or listen to) more, I'm sure.
