House Secrets (Joe DeMarco, #4)

I could NOT get into this book! It took me forever, but then about a quarter of the way into it I started focusing more on it in detail, and really became interested. By the time I was half way through the book I couldn't put it down, and ended up reading the last three quarters of the book (from when I got interested until I finished it) in just three days. It was great. So many people to follow and such a scary view on life and peresonalities, but amazingly well written and intersting.
It's the story of a lawyer/investigator who works for a member of senate going around solving issues for important washington people. He finds himself in a situation way over his head, and one thing leads to another and it becomes something that changes his entire life.
This is how I explained it to a friend: tts about an investigator who works for a man in senate who does him an odd side job favor to figure out the reasoning behind a journalist's strange death, and his trail takes him through the craziest path of dirty congressmen, the future president, a bunch of murders that happen to everyone he knows, and he is the only one who knows the truth, but the people he's dealing with are top of the line in washington, so no one believes his story. and whenever he finds someone who does, they die.
