An in depth look at the conservative swing of the Supreme Court during the 1970s. Dense, well-researched, and well-written, but occasionally repetitive. The book is at its best when describing the battle over the court's major decisions in Roe v. Wade and Nixon v. United States, but there are also hundreds of pages detailing relatively minor and repetitive battles between Justices.

Fascinating insight into Warren Burger and the birth of the modern conservative court.
