Told from the point of view of Enzo, the deeply philisophical family dog, The Art of Racing in the Rain is a heart wrenching family drama that's hard to put down. I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did, but there's something so beautiful about the narration of Enzo, who conveys the blind enthusiasim and loyal love of a tail wagging dog while telling the story with such deeply thoughtful, human insight into the lives of his human family. The story unfolds slowly, but so intensely that I found myself staying up long past bedtime to finish. I loved it, even though it made me cry!
