As I have come to expect from books written by professional athletes, the writing wasn't great. It wasn't awful either, but like some other readers I was a bit confused by the constant skipping around in the storyline. Overall good story though, and Viesturs is an interesting enough guy. Some of the bits especially at the start of the book came off a bit like the Days of Our Lives: Mountaineering edition, though.
