This creepy supernatural book revolves around Danny and his father who are constantly moving following the death of Danny's mother. When the pair settle along a frozen lake in a small Canadian town, things seem pretty normal. Danny causes teen-trouble with local outcasts. Things change, however, in the middle of a brutal winter when Danny is attacked by a creature from the lake that defies reality. The small quite town isn't all it seems. Danny learns about a Native American legend explaining that a monster stalks the lakes. Suddenly, the stories about missing teens who were believed to have run away from the town seem skeptical. Danny and a few friends realize that the Ice Monster is after them! This book is exciting and sure to please fans of the supernatural/occult. It would probably draw more to boys (slightly). Best for 12 and up.
