This started out SO slow and boring to me, but the last 6th or so of the book really picked up and I ended up liking it. I still feel like Austen was just writing chick-lit though, and we've freaked out over it because it was 200 years ago. But seriously, still the same kind of stuff. I'm not sure if I've ever seen the popular film adaptations of Emma, but the only interpretation I definitively remember is Clueless, and I love that movie, so that made it a little tolerable. Now, it's been awhile since I've seen Clueless, but if my memory of the adaptation serves me, then Jane Fairfax (view spoiler) BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA that's priceless. Clueless, you've just been bumped up in my Netflix queue.
