Gilbert comes with the right credentials and starts his thesis with an intriguing notion -- that we do not know what will make us happy and therefore will constantly make decisions counter to our own ultimate happiness. A wonderful idea that would have made a nice New Yorker article rather than a book which runs dry of evidence and application half way through.
