For me, this book has two things going for it: it's a good murder mystery, and it has some delightfully antique ideas of what the future would be like. For instance, the protagonist always wears his hat when giving his pursuers the slip on the (conveyor belt) expressway. It's an entertaining piece of classic science fiction that also makes me incredibly claustrophobic. The earthlings of the future live their lives in huge enclosed cities and never see the sun. Windows are an affectation.
