I really enjoyed this story about Cara's return to her roots on Isle of Palms. Her relationship with her mother was intriguing - it is incomprehensible to me that someone could actually stay away from home for twenty years. The evolution of Cara's relationship with her mother, Lovie, the turtles and her old friendships made for interesting reading. Although some of the plot was fairly predictable, it was a good read. The story flowed well and kept me turning the pages. It would be a great beach read, but also a good any time read - maybe a good escape from winter weather.
