Read in January, 1997

So, I'm not a fan of the whole book and I was actually bored stiff through a majority of it, but I'm recommending it because it had such deep and powerful messages about how we should treat each other. Ironically, and no doubt purposefully, Melville made Queequeg the mouthpiece for delivering most of these sermons. What better way to relay such tender, heartfelt words, than through the character most thought of as barbaric (by those who didn't know him obviously)? This is another great work on overcoming prejudices.
