Having been raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I was exposed to this book at an early age. Regardless, I did not seriously read this book until my early 20's. At that time I truly wanted to know for myself if it was the word of God as proclaimed by the church I belonged to. Because of my experience with this book and the Spirit of God, my life was enhanced immeasurably - I know that Jesus Christ lives and is the resurrected Savior of mankind. I know that God exists and I know that He truly loves me because of the gift of His Son's life and atonement. I do not have to guess who I am and what I am here for, this book and the Holy Spirit of God have made it plain to me! Am I fanatical? Delusional? Find out for yourself. Put the book to the test - read it; then ask God the Father in the name of Christ if it is true - He will "manifest the truth of it unto you". This is something between you and your God, only you can do this for yourself, no one can stand in for you here. He does answer sincere prayers and He will speak peace unto your soul!

You don't sound like most LDS I have met in my time. They have seemed to think that Jesus was just a really good guy and not the absolute savior of our souls and that one has to be a Mormon to get to heaven. If Jesus truly died for all men (and women) then it should not matter what church or denomination one belongs to if they have accepted His sacrifice and have repented of their sins.
We (all of us ever born upon this earth, the spiritual children of the Most High God) cannot presume to say who does or does not get to heaven. Those of us who have taken the Holy Ghost as our guide to follow in the footsteps of our Exemplar and Savior Jesus Christ must be as obedient as he was and submit ourselves unto the will of our Father in heaven. It is because of this that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! After having received a witness from the Spirit that this Book of Mormon is the word of God, I know that the instrument that brought it forth was a prophet of God. I am speaking of Joseph Smith,Jr. He recorded in his account of his vision of God and Jesus Christ that Jesus Christ commanded him to join none of the churches then on the earth. He was told: all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: "they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof." He was then directed by Jesus Christ to restore the fulness of His Gospel that had been taken from the earth with the passing of His Apostles.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is that church that Christ commanded Joseph Smith, Jr. to organize. Having taken the Holy Spirit as my guide, I know by the manifestation of that Spirit that this is true! This knowledge, given me by God, brings much peace into my life. I know He lives! And I know He will fulfill all the words He has spoken! All men and women who desire to know the truth may be blessed with this knowledge - I urge all to seek confirmation by the Spirit of what I testify.
