An amazing story told with so much detail you would have thought it all fictious. But by the bulging reference section you can tell it was throughly research. By this you know it was great writing. Oddly, I see it as a pretty effective diet book. Over the week or so I was reading it I had a different perspective on hunger and reasonable meal portion. The only shortfall of the book is the post war story at the end wasn't as exciting and a bit of a letdown compared to the dramatics of the first 300 pages. Read this book because of the power of Goodreads referral. Thanks Ewa!
