I really enjoyed this, surprisingly, after experiencing the strange character change in Puck in The Iron Queen, it seems that he is the same mischievious yet lovable character that he is in
Summer's Crossing.
We get an insight into the mindset of Puck which was interesting considering how there is a narrator change and, to be honest, I liked Puck's alot more than Meghan's because her narration seems to be revolving always around the winter prince Ash. I didn't really like them as the main couple because they had potential but because it wasn poorly developed— it seemed to be full of angst and no chemistry which I loathe, despise, abhor etc... Hence why I enjoyed the dynamic between Puck and Ash as they have an interesting foundation for their strange alliance— they both hate eachother yet they both seem go far out to do something for the other no matter what.
The plot was quite simple:— Ash has made a strange deal with Leanansidhe, who asks him to go to Arcadia and bring back a prized possession of hers that Titania stole: a violin. However, when Oberon realises that Ash, the winter prince is near Arcadia— he encourages Puck to bertray Ash in order to win the hear of the girl he loves, being Meghan. But all the same I loved how it brought Ash and Puck somehow closer, the banter between them was hilarious because it's just concentrated snark.
Overall I liked this book, it isn't amazing, mindblowing but for a novella, it was an enjoyable read, a bit light aswell— I just wished it was a bit longer because the ending seemed a bit abrupt.

A novella from Puck's point of view? I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! Although, I still haven't finished The Iron Queen but I love Puck too much to give a damn. I like my men snarky, thank you very much.

I tried to read The Iron Queen and Puck's characterization was so completely off-putting. At times he was being so bitter towards Meghan, I was just like WTF?! But the ending was unexpected from most YA books.
Well, she did drop him didn't she? I forget the details but that along with being banished from his home (wasn't he?) would be enough to make anyone bitter.I hate being in the dark about details, so, I'll suppose I'll have to get around to reading it sooner rather than later.
Okay, now that I've read this and The Iron Queen I'd just like to say that for the most part I whole-heartedly agree with everything you said. Though I did find Puck kind of grating here, which surprised me, but was definitely an upgrade from the weird vibes I got from him in The Iron Queen.

I prefer the funny guys too, but really, I'm just anti-cardboard-cut-out.
