Audition: A Memoir
by Barbara Walters
by Barbara Walters
Let me first say that I have never been a Barbara Walters fan. I haven't disliked her, but just never paid that much attention to her. I picked up this book at a book exchange because there weren't many books (I brought all the good ones!) and no one else was taking this one. I figured it was free, so what the heck? So maybe part of the reason I liked it so much was because I had no expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. It was really interesting to read about her personal and professional life, her parents, her struggles with being a woman in a male dominated profession, her choices regarding relationships, etc. She did a very good job of framing everything with the era in which each part of the "story" is told. She was able to really explain the context in which things happened. Surprisingly good.
