William Parsons The best book I have read in a very long time. Jonathan Franzen tells a great story of family dysfunction that evokes so many emotions in the reader because most readers will identify with at least some aspect of the story. The story ends on a note of optimism and hope, which makes for a great ending. However, how we get to the ending is a enthralling story of self destruction and human weakness.

Franzen weaves many story lines to explain the life of his main character Patty Berglund, which as you would expect is how life is where we are influenced by all those we meet in life.

This is a serious adult novel that I would recommend to adults with life experiences.
