really liked it

I like the Harry Potter series, I truly do. But when it comes to a boy banding together with friends to solve mysteries with powers involved, the Charlie Bone series wins it for me. Midnight for Charlie Bone is the first book in the series, and I fell in love with it right away. There was a touch of James and the Giant Peach involved, in regards to the aunts in the story, and that only strengthened my love for the story. The character of Olivia in particular is a stand-out, which is something she wouldn't have any other way. I guess what I learned is that it's possible and alright to fuse together themes of every series to make your own story successful and entertaining to read. I certainly picked up on some similarities found in other stories, but for some reason I always found myself loving the Charlie Bone books more than the others.
