Judy Blume writes the perfect books for older children. Her books offer much humor and insight into the plight of our children. This book was very amusing. This little boy wanted freckles so bad and it humorously describes how he drank a "magic" potion to get freckles and how he colored blue dots all over himself. This brings back memories of me wanting curly hair and braces. Children always admire traits in other children and want what they can't have. Children can relate to Blume's characters and the illustrations that went with this were pricless. They were black and white, but they went wonderfully with the funny story.
