I think the reason I liked this book less than the previous two was that it had too much reality in it. In a sense it struck close to home. Believe me when I say that there is no way I have experienced the horrors that Katniss did, but the way her experiences broke her, left her damaged, I know that feeling all too well. I wasn't fond of the reminder that there are things a person lives through that changes them forever, and sometimes it breaks them in a way that can never be mended. Living every day with that feeling as it is, it's not nice to be reminded of it in a book that you are reading to try and escape from those feelings.
