Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10)
by J.R. Ward
by J.R. Ward
I will admit I had no faith whatsoever in this read. The brothers show so much love for their Shellans and Tohr has been missing Whelsie so much that I never thought to see him falling all over again in love with someone else could really be possible.
I'm just so happy I was wrong! This has been an amazing read and the series went back to what it used to be at the beginning. I was getting so freaking bored of the Lessers, so this new enemy (which IMHO isn't really the enemy) was great! Everything worked out as it had to be, things got to be as they used to and I was completely immersed in the read. Couldn't put it down.
Can't wait to read the next installment.
I know this isn't a very elaborated review but so much has been said about it already that I just feel I would be making a copy of somebody else's review.
Although it wasn't a fav. Loved it but just not as much as others in the series.

I agree with you ! I'm a little worried about this one. The last one was mediocre and I feel like they can't top off lover mine. But we will see and I will definitely give it a chance. :)

No'one was Xhex's mom and all that drama. I just don't know what to say really. Cause this one has to REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY take the cake. Especially with this character and his heroine. I'm sure Ward thought it would be a great idea to bring things full circle with Tohr, no'one, Xhex and Darius. But I feel this is really rushed. And we barely know much about no'one and her relationships with others as it is. I mean outside of being the merry maid on the other side and having a brief moment of saying I'm your mom to Xhex and even being found and rescued by Darius and Tohr eons ago. I just can't see their "love" being natural. Not to say it would be unnatural or weird cause of her current form. But these guys they lust hard for their women. I can't for the life of me imagine Tohr out of the clear blue yonder looking over at someone hobbling and limping along and saying or even thinking MINE or I'd tap that. Hell the premise doesn't even seem believable in my head. When is this one coming out? Maybe by then I'll be able to decide if I'll pick it up or not.
Yea the cover looks like it could have been for John Matthew's book or even for Qhuinn and Blay's novella.
Yea I heard through a friend on here that Blay and Qhuinn are getting a novella. Not sure when it's coming out though. But she said it's either posted on Ward's site or another member of the site told her that it will be after a novella of Rhage and Mary adopting a baby.
Probably, not to mention Ward loves to heavily set up the next characters in each of her stories. So I can only imagine who else will be tacked onto this story. I have a feeling it might be Xcor. Do to the exchange on whose really the Bloodletter's kids with Payne and who isn't. So in a sense he will be "reborn" to a new purpose too.
I probably need a re-read of this series because some names are turning fussy to me, LOL. But after the last book I kinda loose some interest in the series. And I NEVER liked the "bad guy" in this series, I tended to skip those parts because they bored me to death.
I only initially like Mr. X til he turned all pansy on me during the whole Mr. O and then Mr. D sagas. Then Lash was the baddie and he truly was a foul one. But I still didn't like the wicked witch of the west melt away he was going through. Still kind of saddens me to think of any one even a bad guy dying that way.
did the warden every actually say it was gonna be No'One? i know everyone is saying that but i dont remember seeing anywhere where she said it was No'One.
From what I hear not just yet. But my guess if not No'One then probably one of the Chosen. Unless someone else's long lost relative comes out of the wood work some place.
Xhex's mom! She was the quiet unspeaking and devoted to the Scribe Virgin...but with her daughter needing her, she crossover too.
i read a book that was devoted to blay and qhuinn it was called lover destined and it was good not as good as j r ward would do but it was good and those two stubborn males finally got togather
WHAT?? How have I never heard of this book??? It's not on goodreads. Please explain some more to me. What do you mean with a book about those 2 characters???
oh I've read that. And although I think it isn't too bad for a fanfic story. I kept getting strong vibes that the author was suggesting Qhuinn would be the more feminine of the two. As some of his actions to me read very much like most female heroines would.
where is everyone getting their info?!?! i haven't even heard of this book yet. T_T i hope it's tohr and wellsie reincarnated or blay and qhuinn(one of them dies and comes back)
I got my info from a friend that actually goes to Ward's site and reads feedback directly from her. And from what she last said Blay and Qhuinn are just getting a Novella. And it is definitely confirmed that Lover Reborn is about Tohr, all from Ward herself on her site. Also kind of confirmed that Wellsie won't be coming back either.
That's so sad. I just can't picture Tohr getting in love with somebody else after seeing how happy he was with Wellsie, *sniff.
I still think Ward should have waited to do his story in general. As it is way too soon for him to be loving on anybody else anyway. Hell he just got the balls to board up the sliding door or window on his house he hadn't seen in the last few months.
I get their broken Crystal. That is beyond true. But at the same time I felt like No'One copped out in her own story in Lover Mine. I mean heck look what happened to Rhev and Bella's mom. That woman took a heap load of crap from 2 guys in her life. And even had her own half sympath child and loved him like he was no different than anybody. I know it's bad form to compare characters or judge other's choices. But geesh No'One didn't even try. Which makes me not root for her for 1. And for two she was barely even mentioned any more after the little "Xhex, I'm your mom." Moment. Heck at least there was a bit more response from Luke Skywalker when he found out Darth Vader was his parent. But No'One once more kind of slunk away like Cousin It or something. And pardon all my movie references, kind of on a roll I was, lol. But you get what I'm saying.
She could think of her mistakes and all that. Won't doubt it. But the way she is presented lately in the stories does not make her seem like a worthwhile writing effort.
someone posted this link on FB that has a lot of great info: http://obscuredvixen.wordpress.com/20...
Ok so I have a question that DID NOT get answered in this last book...I thought it would...what was with the chapters in John Matthews book with the new reporters going into to interview the Vampire that turns out to be Murdher. Ward goes no further than this right? or did I miss something...that small story line seemed to be out in left field.
Oh you talking about that whack ghost hunter set of POVs? I think it was Ward's way of introducing Murdher to the readers and his tie to a current character we were already reading about. He'll probably show up again. Just I hope it won't be with another whack ghost hunter crew. Gah those were boring and tough parts to read to me.

I thought maybe he would show up in the most recent since she set it up with that backstory. It was hard to read through. John Matthew's book could have totally been OK WITHOUT those parts! They made no sense to the story
I'm think he'll show back up once Xcor and the other guys start acting up a bit mroe than the Payne incident. But I definitely agree with you those ghost hunter bits drove me batty. I actually wound up enjoying Lash's side of things in that book more and more and I couldn't particularly stand him too much either.
I'm going to wait and check it out at the library when I have nothing better to read. This series is not going where I had hoped and is not holding my interest. I don't even remember Xhex having a mother and I didn't like Xhex to begin with.
*Headdesks repeatedly* Noo-o! Tohr needs to have Wellsie back! They need to have the rest of their lives together!! It's so unfairrr! I totally think that No'One should end up with Muhrderr!! It's not FAIR!
Omg! This book is $14.99 on kindle!!! A little more and u can get a hardcover. I think I'll pass. Even though I'm dying to read it I think it's absurd!
Oh I know. I don't understand, well I guess I kind of do why they are driving up the prices on most sought after e-books and hard covers. But man I just paid 18 bucks for a hard cover of
and it was 18 bucks. Which is kind of steep even though I've seen some worth more. But still it's a real pinch to the wallet these days to read anything worthwhile.
I opt for library. 15 for an ebook. Crazy as stated earlier why buy ebook when for a few more dollars you can have a hardback.
I agree, I can't imagine Thor with anyone but Wells. It's so sad and I really hope you guys are wrong about No'one.
I dont know why everyone is saying its no' one. Ward never said it was her. I dont think itll be her. It sucks that wellsie cant come back. I loved her and they were perfect together.
I crappola! Just went to get it online and read a review that made me think it will meet my fears! Im not gonna post what the review said since its depressing and everyone feels different about some things. I await more reviews! People please get reading!!! So I can gauge my insanity to reconsider buying it for $15 bucks!
Yeah... I dont know how long I can wait to pick it up...and if ppl start throwing 5 stars I'm gonna cave. I know it!
Me too! I want to wait and read some reviews before I decide if I can read it but I'm really tempted to buy it now. Gah. Well, Mandi is reading it know and she said so far Tohr/No'One work. Maybe it won't be so bad. *wrings hands*
This book broke my heart and my belief in the deep love and commitment the brothers had for their shellans. It was awful to see how Tohr after living 200 years with Wellsie was abel to move on to someone if with the same kind of love that her had for Wellsie it just broke my brotherhood universe down. I do not belief anymore.
