4.5 stars. Really enjoyed this book. A very modern and fair-minded read. No major revelations, but the author has a charming, frank and honest style that breathes some fresh air and personality into a topic that's been analyzed so thoroughly already. Unlike some other books about kids and media and sexuality and gender, it didn't leave me feeling hopeless about the younger generations. Neither did Orenstein offer a miraculous fix for everything's that's gone wonky with our kid culture, but she left me feeling hopeful and better informed. Really engaging read.
