Game Control
by Lionel Shriver
by Lionel Shriver
This was OK. I admire Shriver's ability to pull the reader into a specialised world, which she did well in this book as in Double Fault. The basic premise of this book was good and it raised some interesting questions about population/demography and motivations for working in the aid industry (if I can call it that) but for me, the characters didn't feel quite real. They almost felt like caricatures and I couldn't connect with them or their relationship. It wasn't bad in my opinion, just not great.
