** spoiler alert ** Once upon a time a human shaman stepped into the Otherworld to look for a girl that had been kidnapped. This was a big move for her, the dangers of the fae world were many. Little did the shaman realise that the dangers would include finding out her dad was the storm king, finding a sister that wanted to kill her, and taking over her very own kingdom.

Now the shaman is a fairy queen with a kingdom devoid of water (her own doing), and someone is kidnapping her fairy girls and taking them to the human world. As if this isn't weird enough, by the end of the book our shaman-come fairy queen will have been banished to the human world by another shaman who, by the way, is also kidnapping girls from the kingdom.

Not only does our very new fairy queen who has never had many friends find herself with many new suitors, but she also finds that some of them are in fact much more dangerous than she could ever imagine.

The most surprising turn of events is that this shaman is used to killing or banishing fae, and yet when one has her kidnapped and rapes her, her beloved half kitsune boyfriend tells her to be merciful to him!! And more surprisingly her step father agrees- HELLOOOOO- he's fae!! He raped her, AND had been kidnapping other fae from the kingdom anyway, any self respecting shaman would know that he has to die!

Thankfully our beloved Thorn Queens "maker" - King Dorian was not in a merciful mood and was just as hurt by the incident as she had been = one dead fae. Now preparations are underway for war, and our Thorn Queen has new allies and new enemies, and some of them are both, but the best part of all, she also has a new boyfriend! One that will stand alongside her, fight and help her right her kingdom.
