Very funny and of-the-moment kind of book. Lots of focus on current technology like blogs, texting, etc. This book is in our library's children's section but I think it's probably more for middle school. Gen goes on a theme vacation with her family one summer to a rural location designed to immerse the vacationers in a setting a lifestyle similar to Little House on the Prairie - no electricity, no phones, nothing with a power cord. Gen sneaks her new cell phone on the trip though and starts texting her friends about "life in 1890" and she becomes an Internet sensation when her friends turn her texts into a blog.
