I have to admit that rather than read it, I listened to this on Audio in my car, here and there, bits and pieces, while running errands.

I liked this book a lot more than the other book I'd recently read by the same author. The characters were deliciously quirky and multi-layered, and I liked many of them. I really wanted more of their stories, especially the secondary characters, and that makes me enjoy a book all the more. I mean, come one! A one-armed bartender?! I see the author has other books set in this same universe and I plan to add them to my shelf.

This book packs in a lot, as many other reviewers have mentioned. Dirigibles. Civil War. Mad scientists. Zombies. Drug addiction. And a twist at the end that I had to admit I was not expecting; that's always a nice touch.
