I Don't Want To Kill You brings the series to a close with a series of heavy hitting emotional punches. These books are always been dark, pull-no-punches affairs. It's Dexter without all the sucky parts. I hate to make that comparison because these books are much, much better than the Dexter books.

The plot is pretty straight forward, but goes about itself with dignity and grace, hitting the right notes and pulling me forward though the main character's mistakes and struggles.

The ending is a downer, but also has a 'their adventures will continue' sort of ending. Which I really like. It's solid mystery, solid horror. If that's what you're looking for you can't go wrong with this series.
