I thought this was an interesting read. The story follows Margrit, a lawyer who seems to enjoy being on the edge of danger, as she learns that her world might be more dangerous then she expected. Very early in the story we are also introduced to Alban, who as it turns out is a very old Gargoyle that has been keeping a close eye on Margrit. He noticed her apparently lack of fear and decided to be her "guardian angel." Unfortunately for him, the first chance he takes in talking to Margrit also causes him to become a suspect to a brutal murder in the park. He later convinces Margrit to help him prove his innocence so that the human population doesn't find out about not only the gargoyles but the rest of the Old Ones(Selkies, Vampires, Djinn, and Dragons) as well.
