really liked it
bookshelves: sci-fi

I suppose the old refrain, "all the hits, all the same, all the time," might be applied. McDevitt doesn't break new ground here, really. But so what? I adore his work--he does character well, the situations are more or less compelling, and the like, enough so to forgive his excessive detail in some areas. In this book, the inhabitants and artifacts of Maleiva III are creative and puzzling.
