This was an enjoyable and curious book that's really in its own genre. I agree that the summary does not do the book justice, but I picked it up because of the author. It's a book that builds up to the end, and you are left thinking about it long after you are finished reading. I liked the quaint setting, the odd characters, and the intriguing story. It's not for everyone, it's for people who are a tad quirky and can suspend judgement.
