Well, apparently there is some chunk of this book missing in both Kindle and paper versions. It happens towards the end at what is supposed to be the big climatic scene with the big villain. I spent a couple minutes clicking back and forth on my Kindle trying to figure out how when we went from a hallway down in the basement fully clothed to a bedroom naked in the space of a sentence and then piecing together what must have happened in the missing section (well the fact they were naked in bed gave me a clue, LOL). This is the second book of LL's that has fallen to pieces during the pivotal scene at the end. And yet I keep buying her books. Go figure.

Anyway, until that point, I was thinking the book was looking pretty good editing wise, compared to the many disasters she's turned out over the past couple of years. The story itself was just OK. Navarro's refusal to let himself love Mica got on my nerves after a while and the story was way, way in the characters' heads with the suspense aspect of the plot barely being addressed. So Navarro's Promise is typical LL angst but without as much action.

Justducky422 I just finished the book and did the same thing you did!! It was driving me CRAZY!?!?!?!?!?!?! (Do you know if it's all versions?

Willow Brook I know it is a problem inborn paper and Kindle copies but don't know it is in ALL books. I decided to get a refund on my Kindle book. After all the editing disasters she's had the past couple years, I figured I was due a refund. :)

Cassandra This is a problem with Sony too! Here is what the Penguin told me:

Dear Ms. L,

We apologize for the delay in getting back to you regarding the missing content in NAVARRO’S PROMISE. We have been in touch with the editor, who has been in touch with the author, and we understand that Ms. Leigh has been working to replicate the pages that were inadvertently omitted and intends to post them on her web site shortly: www.loraleigh.com.

Additionally, we will incorporate the new content in future printings of this book.

We truly apologize for any disappointment that was caused as a result of this omission, and we appreciate your patience.

Willow Brook Thanks for that update, Cassandra! I really wonder why she has such significant editing problems with her books.

Cassandra I think there was some type of database glitch. I don't think it was her fault just a technical difficulty that no one caught. I love the series, so I wanted to get the word out there a little :)

Willow Brook I love the series too but there have been problems in multiple books the past couple of years.

MelissaB I am sorry but she needs to get a better editor ASAP! It's ridiculous and she is going to lose even dedicated Breed fans like me if she can't start writing better and actually getting her books edited. Ever since Mercury's War the books keep getting worse and worse.
