I was somewhat bothered by the message in this book, and generally, I am not one who cares about such things. Basically, a perfect child acts out, and gets put in charge of his chorus class by the pissed off teacher. The end result of which is, the child ends up being even more perfect than everyone realized. (view spoiler)[The teacher learns although he is knowledgeable and dedicated, he's terrible at his job. Everyone is happier with the twelve year old leading the class although very little music is actually learned as a result. (hide spoiler)] The teacher learns from the students, and everyone gets the warm fuzzies... sort of... The book is fun, (supposedly) sweet, and a quick read.
