If you love cooking, good food, and/or Julia Child, this is a wonderful read. It's full of Child's charm, interesting notes about post-war France, how Child learned to cook, and how she wrote her books and managed her tv show. Only Child's strange ideas about politics discolor this otherwise wonderful book. (For example, she calls all those who disagree with her political ideas "un-intellectual," but in the next breath admits she is not an intellectual, either.)
