Clary had hoped her life would get back to ordinary, but with her newly found brother Jace continuing to get into trouble, a maniac for a father on the loose, and her best friend Simon wanting to pursue a relationship her life continues to spiral. Just a sampling of the roller coaster ride City of Ashes has in store.
The second in the Mortal Instruments series. There are so many levels to this book and I find that amazon is not getting here quick enough with the third, because I am wanting to see what happens next. I had mentioned to my daughter that I felt this second book was much quicker paced than the first, she agreed but related to me that I know the characters now and it was easier to settle in. Regardless a page turner. Utterly brilliant and I am ready to stalk the UPS truck to find out what happens in the third book.

Great review Emily! I totally love this series. But yes, it can give you that feeling of not getting there fast enough because the first three at least leave off with cliffhangers! Argh! I haven't read the newest one (can't wait!), but the 3rd one does give you a little closure on some things so it's not so much a cliffhanger at least. :)

Exactly...but it is good marketing because I tend to read those types of books one after the other because I simply can't wait! :)

It was really good.
