I think my problem with these books is that the first was a totally charming middle grade book about a spy school, the second introduced boy spies and this one introduced an evil conspiracy. Of the three only the first had any real plot or any real conclusion.

This whole book could have been chopped down to 50 pages and it really wouldn't have lost anything because the entire book was setup, setup, setup, setup until it just ended with absolutely no payoff. Is her love interest good? Is he bad? Is he undercover? That seems more likely, but for a spy, Cammie is unbelievably dense.

I did rate this a three, but after writing this, I realize that while what I loved about the first book was still here (charming characters, strong female friendship, a secret sisterhood of awesome) this book didn't move anything forward in terms of plot or overall arch.
