I really liked French's "In the Woods." And I really, really didn't like her follow-up "The Likeness." I'd say this one, which is another entry in her "Murder Squad" series falls somewhere in the middle, quality-wise. Not as preposterous as "Likeness," but not quite as engrossing as "Woods."
My biggest beef is probably that the resolution to the mystery was pretty obvious from the beginning...
