If you believe in endless coincidences and rich if painfully turgid natural world analogies and slow wittied but honrable protagonists being tormented by wilful and spiteful female protagonists all leading up to a joyous redemptive endign then this is the book for you and many will agree with its position as a noted classic ...however i hated it for its ability to make a page as heavy as a ten ton lead weight.
