Zombie Spaceship Wasteland
by Patton Oswalt
by Patton Oswalt
I hate to say anything bad about this, because I really do love the guy. But only parts of this book worked for me. All his "true life" stuff was great, like the chapter about his crazy uncle, or the one about a horrible gig in Canada. But the more strictly "comedic" essays, like the fake "notes" given to a screenplay, or the greeting card stuff, just weren't very funny. I might just have low-tolerance for comedic "fake history" things, as well. But all the stuff that seemed to come out of actual experiences were, just like his stand-up, right on the mark...
