Juvenile novel about a boy (once upon a time, a rat) who was part of Cinderella's big night out at the ball. When the rat/boy was out playing instead of minding the pumpkin/carriage at midnight, he missed out on turning back into a full time rat. Thus the boy is left in a strange city with no name, no manners, and no idea he looks more than the 3 weeks old he keeps telling everyone he is.
The parts I think are the most clever might not make of an impression on a child. I like the play on words as Roger tries to learn what good boys do and don't do and why. I also love the spoofs on the media. The newspapers make Roger out to be a monster. That is, until Cinderella endorses him, at which time he becomes a national hero.
I didn't think it was the most exciting book but it was a short read. And I do love anything Cinderella.
