I really, really liked it. I don't know why that surprised me so much, but I did. I am now disappointed that there aren't any used copies of the rest of the series around, so I'm going to be forced to buy them new. I'm glad that Tim started me in the direction of the classic sci-fi, because it's been the perfect escapism lately.

Cindy Fantastic! I started this a couple of times in my teens, but keep abandoning it. After reading your review, I think it's time to give it another try. BTW, did you know that this is the book of the month in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy group right now? There's quite a discussion going on over there.

And, yes, sci-fi is awesome escape-ism. One of the reasons why I love it so much. Along similar lines I named my Kindle "Cindy's Soma" because it's such an escape to read. :)
