I guess you could say that Alice knows solitude. What with her mother dead, and her father remarried with a newborn baby, it seems that all her relationships are at arms length. But when Alice finds herself inside a car during a deadly snowstorm, with a shivering infant and limited supplies, Alice now TRULY knows how solitude is like.

I have to admit I wasn't too into it in the beginning, but later on I got sucked in and just about nothing could stop me from reading til the end. I closed the book in a daze, this beautiful story had left it's mark on me. Did I shed tears? Oh yeah, baby. It was a rollercoaster of intense emotions. I didn't mourn for the characters. I mourned WITH them. I didn't just feel relief for the characters. Believe I cried happy tears alongside them. In the end, Alice's relationships are resolved and I couldn't be more satisfied.

It was a brilliant read.
