This is the kind of book you read with a smile and a giggle because the writing is so delightful. An adventure on the high seas- if there were seas and if they were high. The suspense of a ruthless highwayman- if there were a highwayman who was ruthless. It is the story of Miss Penelope Lumly, previously an orphan, who gains employment at Ashton Place as the governess to three feral children. Raised in the woods by wolves and adopted by newlyweds Frederick and Constance Ashton, the three children must learn to curb their tendencies to chase squirrels, wear their pants upside down and howl at the moon. I can hardly wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.
