really liked it
bookshelves: social-studies

This picture book about Ruby Bridges would be a great way to introduce her story to your class, and would tie into a Civil Rights study in Social Studies. The short picture book tells how about her experience with school integration. I like it because you get the perspective of one person on the event, which could make it more personable to students. It would be a good way to get students to think about what it would be like if they were Ruby Bridges and had to go through what she went through.
