it was amazing

One word “Wonderful”!!

For about 3 weeks The Help has been the only thing to keep me company in the bus when I went to and fro college… It’s shortened my rides and even made me enjoy them!

I loved every character in this book and just felt them, like they were right in front me moving and whispering even when the book was closed! I kept wondering what was going to happen next... Such an engaging story and sacrifices that Skeeter, Aibileen and Minny had to share… Aibileen with her love and wisdom, Minny with her angry yet very funny talks that made me laugh so hard especially whenever she talked about that “awful terrible” LOL. I also laughed at their “Mmm-mm” all the time, and a lot more... (It made me look like a fool in the bus trying to hide my laughs in front of everybody), and Skeeter: she represented all the young out there that can actually make a difference. And all the other characters were just amazing, even the little ones like Mae Mobley.

Even though I knew some of the facts about racism and how colored people used to suffer and have a hard life; I couldn’t imagine how a colored person would get shot in the head for using a white family’s toilet! I mean really, some of the parts opened my eyes to a lot of things I thought I knew everything about. It’s a story about bravery and fighting for what you believe in... My favorite!

I hated the end for one reason: I just didn’t want it to end, and now I can’t wait to watch the Movie.

Kathryn Stockett is a brilliant story teller and I am eager to read her next book :)
