The Future of Us

Honestly if a book has Jay Asher’s name on it, I’m going to read it. (And it’s about damn time there is another one with his name on it.) I hadn’t read anything by Carolyn but I’ve always heard good things about her books, so I knew this was going to be good. And it was. I had a overdose of 90′s nostalgia while reading this thing, it was comical in that regard. It’s strange to think how far we’ve come in that short that time. I loved that I thought I had this story figured out, I just knew the way it was going to end, or so I thought.
The whole idea of finding yourself on the internet 15 years in the future is absolutely genius. Initially I was like, yes! I would love to see what I’ll be doing in 15 years, but as the story went on, I thought perhaps I wouldn’t want to know.
Would you?
Josh and Emma are two characters that will leave a lasting impression on you. I know since I read this book back in May, I still think about it. I still think about the things I would have done different had I been in their position. How friendship and forgiveness are sometimes things you take for granted far too often. And how the decisions we make today, will always affect on our future.
It’s also insane how far we’ve come in the world of technology. Wow.
The Future of Us is a quick read. It’s fast paced and entertaining! It’s everything I wanted it to be and more!
