it was amazing
Read from April 02 to May 16, 2011

First I would like to say that Libba Bray is totally surprising. Her fantasy trilogy did not prepare me for the unbelievable off kilter sense of humor she has. I should have been prepared after "Going Bovine" but this is a totally different level of insane fun.
Planes of teen beauty queens are on their way to a tropical island to prepare for their contest. There is a plane crash and the survivors go able trying to survive while waiting for the rescuers. Think "Lord of the Flies" but sillier by far. Libba Bray footnotes her book and for the most part they are made up funny footnotes.
The conspiracies, double dealing, gender benders, silly boy band, reality TV, political references and double-entendres kept me in stitches. I will be recommending this book to anyone who asks for a book recommendation here at the library.
Thank you Libba.
