Each of the stories in this anthology are about 15 to 20 pages long. I was looking forward to a good sampling of authors and some new ideas.

I got the sampling of authors...but that's about it. I read through the entire first half of the book, and then skimmed looking for stories that interested me to the end.

There is a good mix here, and I'm pretty hard to please with short stories. Most of them were written well, and just didn't resonate with me.

The 'Erotic' part of the title - well, I just have to say that throwing an explicit sex scene in a book does not make it erotic. It just makes what's not good already, even worse.

A couple of stories that did stand out as really good for me, and interested me enough to look for the author's other works.

"Devil's Food" by Shanna Germain. A woman is trying to make her way through life as a baker. When a mysterious man walks in, and demands sugar, she has no idea it's about to turn her life upside down. The characters in this one were more fleshed out than the stories before it, and the writing was solid. 3.5 stars

"Vanilla" by Victoria Janssen. A quick, sweet, hot story about two researching and a batch of cookies. I liked the longing that I felt from both characters. The writing was smooth and I plan to look for more from Victoria Janssen. 3.75 stars

"Folly" by Kate Pearce is definitely the diamond of the bunch. Rose has just been dumped - by text message no less, when she hears a voice calling to her. Coming to a tower she finds a man carved in stone telling her to kiss him. When she does, it's a fairy tale come to life. Kate Pearce wrote some fantastic characters that I'd love to read more about. There's a lovely ethereal quality to the story that make it a joy to read. 4.75 stars

Some have strong HEAs which I found harder to believe than the ones that left them more open. That's an entirely personal thing though as I find a forever after to be believable when characters just meet. There are some stories though that it works really well in. And a lot of the other stories employ a happily-for-now ending, which is more satisfying for me in these cases.

All in all, if you're looking for a collection of quick reads, of varying degrees of paranormal and erotica, then this is something to check out. Most of these left me uninspired though.
