** spoiler alert **
Having read 65% of the book, I'm being stuck with a couple of doubts:
Why Ruger didn't pay attention when Val shouted Crow's name? He shouldn't be as silly as not to notice it. And why Val didn't even try to use her cell phone, which should have been in her jeans pocket, when she managed to run away from Ruger or she found her father shot?
Um, both may be insignificant, but I just felt a little impatient with them. Or maybe I'm missing some points. Anyway I'll read through to the end.
--
I finally finished.
At the very first it looked thrilling, but after the prologue I was quite bored until I went into the Ruger's part, then in the latter half of the book Ruger kept me quite hooked. At the end, however, almost nothing was revealed, which made me a little frustrated. Although I knew this is the first book of the trilogy, I expected something more independently enjoyable. I'm not really sure if I want to read further, as I was not insterested in the evil characters other than Ruger.
