finished this one earlier today. i liked it - the book was interesting from the beginning. it didn't really *grab* me until i was about 3/4 of the way done with it - and then it became a page turner and i couldn't wait to see what happened. i checked this one out in at the library (randomly) and it's 6th in the series. i'm intersted in reading more but i'll get from the library before i make a committment & buy them for the kindle!

***

something that did bug me about this book - i wonder if boyd (hooch) was based off a real chow chow. my in laws have a chow and he's a friendly upbeat dog like boyd but chows are kind of known for being picky eaters and the chow in this book will apparently eat anything. she mentions he is a chow often, so every time i would see "chow" i would think of my in law's dog who often goes a day or so w/out eating b/c his is notoriously picky!!
