really liked it
Read from April 07 to 10, 2011

This was an exceptional memoir and I was very impressed with how Walls relayed her story in a matter-of-fact tone without a trace of self pity. If I'd lived through half her experiences I'd probably need round-the-clock therapy from a special team of psychiatrists. There were times when I wanted to reach into the book and throttle her parents (a term I'd use loosely in their case), but it's evident that she loved them in spite of their flaws. This was a very hopeful story about how we all have the power within us to become the person we were destined to be regardless of the circumstances of our youth. Highly recommend this book.
