it was ok

I wanted to like this book more than I did, especially after enjoying the sequel Belong To Me. The run on sentence overly descriptive style of writing made me crazy. I kept having to go back and reread to figure out what she was talking about. By the end of the book I was skimming. I also got tired of the references to old movies and literature. I found Cornelia very pretentious in this book. The characters in general are so unbelievable. Quirky best friend Linney, beautiful perfect Teo, not to mention Cornelia's ridiculously idealistically happy family. Gag. The character of Clare, like Dev in Belong to Me, made me wonder if the author has ever met any 11 year holds. Completely manufactured. Constantly reading about how gorgeous everyone was got really annoying as well.
